Training the parallel, one of the fundamentals of futsal, it is an imperative!
For years he has not gone through training without proposing and performing at least one exercise to improve this essential technical gesture for the finalization and development of the attack game, is disconnected, is integrated in the game system.
The parallel is a technical gesture very present in the game of futsal. The exercises range from simple introductory introductions to complex exercises in which the parallel is performed in a tactical complexity that requires a high degree of individual technique.
Council to develop step-by-step exercises with a growing difficulty coefficient related to the level of collaboration and interaction of the players involved. To start with 2, 3 until you get to 4 players.
The field has led me to train the parallel since the Under category 15 and then continue in the Under categories 17 e “Juniors”. In each of them the teaching of the technical gesture, its improvement and objectives change and consequently also the teaching methodology and the correction of any errors. In the Under category 15 often young players approach the parallel for the first time and the goal to be pursued certainly cannot be to always create a network at the end of the combination. And’ it is important, however, that the right technical gestures are acquired for correct execution and the refinement of the timing necessary for the realization of the game. In the following categories we will go to work and refine the contextualization of the gesture in the context of a team game, ending with the arrival in the Senior category.
I will explain in detail the elements of an Under category 15 e Under 17 where young players must be guided and corrected in the management of the gesture of raising the ball also using the lateral compass opening. Scrupulous attention to oriented control must not be missing, as well as facilitating the first attempts to sync two-player collaboration. In the following summary video you can appreciate the technical gesture of the lift but also the tactical component of the change of direction and occupation of the space which becomes the often optimal reception area for a net conclusion.

This will be the first of other episodes focusing on the parallel and its developments. For the moment the proposal is on the so-called direct parallel that it provides: discharge-change direction-reception in space with the involvement of only two players.
To train this type of situation I propose you an exercise of mine especially developed in the start-up phases of the session that allows you to involve the whole group available on the entire surface of the playing field. And’ an open exercise in which I often introduce variations such as introducing the player to the second post, or more complex variants that turn it into a completely different exercise.
The recommendation is to propose the exercise in continuity from all the top of the field in order to have the highest degree of participation and involvement of the players available. Take care of the technical gesture of the lift if you also want to place obstacles in front, insist on the cancellation and the change of direction, oriented control and management with just two touches of the ball.
