Futsal Rondo: ball possession and rotation a 4 players

The concept of “rondo” it is borrowed from the Spanish football training methodology, literally, in Italian, should be translated with the classic definition of “torello” but in truth the literal translation does not give the best characteristics of this type of exercises.

To be as inaccurate as possible we will say that rather i “rounds” they are a constant presence in training sessions, with integrated training purposes aiming to improve:

  • ball possession and all related technical gestures (oriented control and transmission)
  • tactical (movements with and without the ball and rotations)
  • conditionals (constant high intensity movement and changes of direction)

In this exercise I present to you the one I use most in all phases of the session and in a repetitive manner with the aim of improving the transmission and control of the ball in a group of 4 players and get them used to a rotation that is triggered at a specific time when the transmission is returned by the central player “in the middle of the lines” which carries out a support action.

Element to be kept under constant attention and to be corrected is represented by the need for the player with the ball to always be able to serve all the other three waiting players who consequently are required to modulate their position on the basis of the possible pass to be received. “dictate the passage in the light area”.
